12th Planet
12th Planet
John started over from scratch. After seven years touring the world as drum-n-bass maestro Infiltrata, after winning over icons such as Goldie and Photek, John Dadzie gave himself a new name, a new sound, and a new determination. It was 2005 and the gentile beatmaker was inspired by sounds he heard spun by the likes Technical Itch, Skream and Benga. It was dubstep. And it was his calling. Once 12th Planet is born, the story really begins. The British dubstep movement takes hold in LA thanks to 12th Planet and the events he aligns himself with; Smog, Media Contender, HARD, and his own club night Dubtroit. Like the mythological twelfth planet (popularized by controversial author Zecharia Sitchin), our 12th Planet flies perpendicular to the system. His wicked beats are off axis. His subsonic frequencies surround you in their own orbit. America’s first king of dubstep is ready for impact.
Protohype
Protohype
In the fall of 2009, Max Pote and Sean Farrell joined forces to create Protohype, an unstoppable musical force of massive proportions and unlimited potential. Their irrepressible style is defined by a cunning combination of the technical finesse and swagger of a seasoned Hip-Hop veteran fused with the and raw energy and passion of an electronic music icon. Protohype specializes in a signature sound composed of extremely catchy melodic lines culminating in a dark and edgy electronic bombardment boldly accented with robust and meticulously crafted drums. With a combined twelve years of production experience between them, Max and Sean understand the crucial importance of diversity and progress while still maintaining the necessary amount of nostalgic familiarity to keep the crowd dancing; first and foremost Protohype know how to throw a raging party.
After the release of their first album, "The Protohype", Max and Sean switched up their production style and moved directly into a new type of music self-titled "Dub Hop", a filthy and ingenious brand of trunk-rattling bass music insidiously incorporating scathing vocals and head nodding drums. Despite their incredibly powerful and distinct creative voices, the masterminds of Protohype have formed an indelible bond on the basis of their uncontrollable infatuation with noise. Music is not only their passion; it is their inalterable and enduring way of life.
Herobust
Herobust
HeRobust, otherwise known as Hayden Kramer, is an electronic producer from Atlanta, Georgia. In the short, two year existence of HeRobust, Kramer's hip-hop inspired bass music has quickly garnered the attention of online media giants such as Rolling Stone, Vice, The Huffington Post, and MTV. 2012 saw a relentless release of music from Herobust. His downtempo beats got him attention from tastemakers such as Mad Decent and XLR8R, while his bass heavy remixes landed him as the second fastest growing artist on social media for fall on 2012 according to Billboard's Next Big Sound. 2013 has seen tours with Big Gigantic, Gramatik, and headlining and festival dates across the United States. It has also seen a barrage or original single's and EP's to critical acclaim. His busy schedule has paid off, getting his tracks played out by the likes of Skrillex, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and DJ Shadow. His latest effort, released via the infamous LA based label SMOG, SHEKNOWSHEBAD has received the support from legendary names such as Flux Pavilion, Dillon Francis and Kill The Noise. With a stacked touring schedule with Gramatik and Pretty lights, 2013 is shaping to launch heRobust into places never thought possible by the prolific young beatsmith.
Antiserum
Antiserum
As a vanguard of forward thinking bass music, Antiserum continuously defines the sound of today. Spawned in a laboratory of collaborations with heavy hitters such as LA dubplate warrior 12th Planet, he has found himself continuously at the forefront of bass music's list key players. His releases on Smog Records and Caspa's Dub Police label have established him as a mainstay of sub-heavy music.

Antiserum's ability to inoculate should come as no surprise. His production "Brick Squad Anthem," a collaboration with Atlanta-based music producer Mayhem, has received huge support from the bass community including Skrillex, Diplo, Datsik, and Flux Pavillion. His collaboration with 12th Planet on the Smog City Compilation, "Bass Salt" was featured on Rolling Stone and UKF and his remix of Helicopter Showdown's "Can You Feel Me" reached #2 on the beatport dubstep charts.

Antiserums BBC Radio 1xtra mix is a brief glance into the dynamic nature of his performance, during which he defies expectations of the listener and delivers an injection of what can only be described as the "Antiserum." Upcoming collaborations with 12th Planet, Mayhem, Brillz, and a release on Datsik's Firepower label will likely dub him the patron saint of bass in 2013.
STEADY
A welcome face to dance floors all over California, Steady is a solid contributor to West Coast dubstep whose productions and performances passionately promote the sound. After playing drum and bass for almost a decade, Steady caught the dubstep contagion and was soon inducted into the SMOG family with the rest of the beat freaks. Along with fellow DJ and producer Kelly Dean, Steady now hosts a radio show "PLATFORM" on DubstepFM every second Saturday of the month from 1-3PM, where he showcases exclusive new material by artists both local and from around the world.

The two have also just released "The Prophet" on Shift Recordings and you can find Steady's work on Alterkation Records as well as on the recent and wildly popular "Dubstep LA" mix by Plastician. Looking forward to future collaborations with fellow SMOG members and other local dubstep heads, Steady continues to propel the sound forward in the studio and at filthy parties all up and down the West Coast.
